Codes & bodies

We are not currently a member of an industry self-regulatory body. We follow the CPA, ECTA and POPIA. Unresolved complaints may be referred to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO), www.cgso.org.za.

• Prices are in South African rand and include VAT. Delivery is not included; if you want delivery, we quote the cost before you pay.
• How an order works: add items to the cart and send the order on WhatsApp, or contact us directly. Your order is only confirmed once we reply to confirm stock and the exact unit, and you have paid. Until then you can change or cancel it at no cost.
• Review before you order: you can check, change or remove items in your cart before you send it, and correct the WhatsApp message before pressing send.
• Stock is limited and many items are single units. If an item sells before your order is confirmed, we will tell you and offer an alternative or cancel.
• Errors: if a price or description on the website is clearly wrong, we will tell you before you pay. You may then accept the correct price or cancel.
• Payment is by EFT into the Onset Trading (Pty) Ltd bank account shown on our official invoice, or in store. Goods are released once payment reflects.
• Payment safety: we never ask for card numbers, PINs or one-time passwords on WhatsApp, email or this website. Before paying by EFT, confirm our banking details by phoning 011 285 0949. We will never change banking details by email or message.
• Collection & delivery: orders can be collected from our shop during trading hours. We confirm the collection or delivery date when we confirm your order.
• Your record: you receive an invoice for every purchase. Keep it, together with the WhatsApp or email order, as your record of the transaction.

7-day cooling-off for online orders (ECTA section 44)

• If you ordered through this website, WhatsApp or email, you may cancel within 7 days after receiving the goods, without giving a reason and without penalty.
• Return the goods complete and in the condition you received them, with all accessories and packaging. You pay only the direct cost of returning them.
• We refund you within 30 days of your cancellation.
• This does not apply to software, games or media you have unsealed, to goods made or set up to your personal specifications, or to services you asked us to start within the 7 days.

Defective goods (CPA sections 55 and 56)

• All goods, including pre-owned and refurbished goods, must be reasonably suitable for their purpose, in good working order, and reasonably durable.
• If an item is defective, you may return it within 6 months of purchase. You choose whether we repair it, replace it, or refund you in full. We carry the risk and cost of the return.
• If a repair does not fix the problem within 3 months, we will replace the item or refund you.
• Pre-owned goods: where we tell you, before you buy, about a specific condition of a unit (for example a scratch, a worn key or reduced battery capacity) and you agree to buy it in that condition, that stated condition is not a defect. It is noted on your invoice.
• The warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents, drops, liquid, power surges, misuse, or repairs or modifications made by anyone other than us.
• Change-of-mind returns on items bought in our shop are at our discretion. Please ask before you buy.

Repairs and old equipment

• Back up your files before handing in a device for repair or upgrade. We take care, but cannot guarantee that data will survive a repair.
• Remove anything you want to keep from equipment you bring in for recycling or trade-in. We wipe storage before equipment is resold or recycled.

• Product photos are of the actual unit or of the same model. Pre-owned and refurbished units can differ in cosmetic condition (marks, scratches, wear) from the photo.
• Specifications describe the model as we sell it. Some pre-owned units vary slightly (for example processor model or storage size), so we confirm the exact specification of your unit before you pay.
• Colours can look different depending on your screen. Accessories are only included where the description says so.
• Ask us on WhatsApp for photos or a video of the exact unit before you buy. We are happy to send them.
• All photos, graphics, logos and text on this website belong to Onset Trading (Pty) Ltd or are used with permission. Please do not copy or reuse them without our written consent.
• Brand names and logos such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and Windows belong to their owners and are used only to describe products. Onset Trading is an independent reseller, not an authorised agent of these brands, unless we say otherwise.

• What we collect: only what you send us when you enquire or order: your name, phone number, email, company name, delivery address and order details.
• Why: to answer your enquiry, process and deliver your order, issue invoices, honour warranties and returns, and meet our legal record-keeping duties.
• What the website stores: this website does not save your personal information on our server. Your cart is kept only in your own browser on your device. The website loads fonts from Google.
• WhatsApp: orders and enquiries sent on WhatsApp are also subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
• Sharing: we do not sell or rent your information. We share it only where needed to serve you, for example with a courier for delivery, or where the law requires it.
• Marketing: we only send you promotions if you have agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time by replying "STOP".
• Keeping it safe: we take reasonable steps to protect your information and keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires.
• Your rights: you may ask what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it.
• Information Officer: Bafana C Nkuna, sales@onsettrading.co.za, 011 285 0949. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa), www.inforegulator.org.za.

• We update prices, stock and information regularly, and may change them without notice. The price confirmed on your invoice applies.
• Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or any other law. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses from using this website.
• These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
